According to new guidelines issued by the Ministry of Education, coaching facilities cannot enlist students under the age of 16, make deceptive claims, or guarantee rank or excellent scores. The new rules call for a monetary penalty of up to Rs one lakh or the termination of coaching institutes’ registration if they charge excessive prices or engage in other malpractices.
The Ministry has established rules to supervise coaching institutes to curb unregulated expansion and address concerns about student suicides, fires, and poor facilities. The laws ban hiring instructors who do not have graduation credentials, making false claims, enrolling kids under the age of 16, and posting deceptive ads regarding coaching quality or amenities.
The coaching facility rules encourage them to build a counseling system and give targeted help to pupils in distress. Additionally, they urge them to create a mechanism for fast action and make a counseling system widely accessible to kids and parents.
Kota’s mental health guidelines attempt to combat the growing rate of student suicide. Tuition costs for courses and curricula must be affordable, and receipts are required. If a student leaves the course mid-term, they will be repaid pro-rata, as will their lodging and mess payments. The central government recommends registering new and current coaching facilities within three months, monitoring their operations, and guaranteeing compliance with registration requirements.
