How many centuries does Sai Sudharsan need before he becomes impossible to ignore? The Tamil Nadu batter has once again let his bat do the talking, scoring another impressive century for India A against Sri Lanka A in the second unofficial Test at Galle.
After making a superb 132 in the first unofficial Test, Sudharsan followed it up with another hundred just eight days later. The left-hander reached the three-figure mark in 166 balls and continued the outstanding form that has established him as one of India’s most consistent young batters.
Sudharsan, who usually bats at No. 3 in red-ball cricket, has been promoted to open the innings on this tour. The change has not affected his game. Instead, he has looked composed against the new ball and mixed patience with well-timed attacking strokes.
After India A bowled Sri Lanka A out for 366, Sudharsan gave his team the ideal start with a calm and controlled knock. He relied on solid technique, defended confidently and punished loose deliveries whenever the opportunity came.
By the end of Day 2, Sudharsan remained unbeaten on 104 and was firmly in control of the innings. Back-to-back centuries on an overseas tour underline both his consistency and adaptability. The 23-year-old from Tamil Nadu is strengthening his case with every innings.
