The IPL enjoys the tag of being the most famous cricket league in the world. That is the reason why several cricketers from across the Cricketing countries aspire to be a part of the tournament.
Accordingly, a large portion of the Indian population, mainly the younger generation watch IPL to very large degree. Particularly teenagers who have great sporting ambitions tend to watch IPL with close attention.
So there is the need for the BCCI to regulate the kind of content that is on display during the IPL tournament.
But shockingly enough, there have been several instances of players getting caught on camera while smoking, cigarettes and vaping.
The latest video involves Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal, who is currently a part of the Punjab Kings team. He was captured on camera while vaping on a flight with the rest of the team. This video is not going viral on social media, and there are a lot of comments on the same.
We have now arrived at a point where players are getting increasingly accustomed to the current conditions and they’re getting caught ever so frequently while doing anti social activities. This is not the right thing to do for the Indian community as a whole.
It is the responsibility of the BCCI and also the IPL governing body to make sure that such activities do not repeat in the future. This is not a good visual for the sustenance of the league as whole.
