Pradeep Ranganathan’s long-pending film Love Insurance Kompany, directed by Vignesh Shivan, was set for a worldwide release on December 18. The project now faces yet another delay, adding to the long list of postponements that have frustrated fans.
Strong speculation suggests that the team has shifted the release to February 14 to avoid a clash with Avatar 3. The makers feel the Hollywood giant could affect LIK’s reach and theatrical run. This triggered fresh discussions online about the film’s planning.
There is also talk that Pradeep Ranganathan wanted the Telugu version to release on the same day as the Tamil version because of his strong market in Telugu states. But the Telugu version is still not ready. This has become another key reason behind the proposed postponement.
After the success of Dragon and Dude, many expected Pradeep to score three 100-crore hits in one year with LIK. Some even saw him as the first Indian actor to reach this milestone. The delay has now disappointed a large section of the audience.
Several users have started criticising the production house and Vignesh Shivan for repeated delays. They fear the film may lose buzz if the team continues to push the release. The growing negativity has added pressure on the makers.
Trade experts, however, welcome the move. They say releasing LIK alongside Avatar 3 would have damaged its theatrical hold. A February release gives the film a clearer window and a better chance at strong collections.
The production house has not issued any official confirmation yet. It remains to be seen whether LIK will move to February or hold its original date. The final announcement is now awaited by fans and trade circles.
