Finally, after facing a lot of struggles with the CBFC board, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan directed by H Vinoth, has cleared the censorship process and is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release soon.
Jana Nayagan was originally scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on January 9th. However, due to the delay in obtaining the censorship certificate, the release was postponed and finally, after 7 months of struggle, Jana Nayagan has obtained an A-rated certificate from the CBFC.
In this scenario, now there is strong speculation that Jana Nayagan will be released in two different versions in India and the United Kingdom. In India, the film received an A certificate from the CBFC board with around 12 major cuts.
These 12 cuts include the muting or removal of TVK references, the removal of New India references and some political dialogues. Meanwhile, in the UK, the film will be screened without any cuts and with a 15-rating.
Although the team has still not officially announced the release date of the film, many sources suggest that the film will most probably hit the screens on July 14 and a new version of the trailer with the updated release date will be out in a few days.
However, in response to the speculation that Jana Nayagan will release with two different versions in India and the United Kingdom, many Vijay fans feel that UK audiences are the luckiest and suggest that the makers of the film should have tried to retain as many references to TVK as possible in the Indian version.
Ultimately, Jana Nayagan is gearing up for a worldwide theatrical release soon and it remains to be seen whether it satisfies the expectations of the audience and emerges as a blockbuster success, resulting in a memorable farewell for the actor Vijay.
