Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s latest action-drama, Maa Inti Bangaram, has emerged as a major box office success, confirming the theatrical pull of female-led commercial cinema.

Directed by B.V. Nandini Reddy, the film has shown exceptional holding power driven by family audiences and strong repeat footfalls through its second weekend.

According to tracking data, the movie collected ₹4.90 crore net in India on its ninth day, marking a 12.6% jump from the previous day. This brings its total domestic net collection to ₹42.95 crore, pushing the domestic gross past the ₹49.72 crore mark. The Telugu version remains the primary driver, accounting for ₹4.65 crore of Saturday’s net earnings.

The project is enjoying an equally strong international run, pulling in an additional ₹1.25 crore gross from overseas markets on day nine. The total international gross has now climbed to ₹21.85 crore, bringing the cumulative worldwide gross collection to a highly profitable ₹71.57 crore.

With this global total, the film has officially broken the 16-year-old historic record of Anushka Shetty’s Arundhati. It is now the highest-grossing solo female-led film in Telugu cinema history.

What makes this run unique is its atypical growth curve. Unlike standard mass-hero films that face steep weekday drops, this film opened to a modest ₹5.35 crore net and accelerated to ₹10.10 crore net by its first Sunday due to positive word of mouth.

Having secured recovery through non-theatrical deals prior to release, the current theatrical run is generating pure profit for distributors. This success marks the highest solo grosser of Samantha‘s career.
