Ram Charan’s Peddi, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, which faced multiple postponements earlier, is now officially heading for a worldwide theatrical release on June 4. The production team has shifted its complete focus toward aggressive promotions while simultaneously wrapping up the final stages of post-production work.
The makers already generated strong hype through Ram Charan’s intense makeover, glimpses, and songs. Trade circles now expect the film to open big at the box office.
According to industry reports, the team has designed a special promotional strategy to maximize the remaining pre-release window. The makers are reportedly planning to release a powerful trailer first, aiming to showcase the emotional depth of the story and the intensity of Ram Charan’s role. Soon after the trailer launch, the team is expected to release the much-hyped item song during the third week of May to push the hype even further.
As part of promotions, the team is also preparing a series of media interactions and interviews. Production designer Avinash Kolla has already begun interacting with the media, while Ram Charan and actress Janhvi Kapoor are expected to participate in some high-profile interviews soon. The makers are also planning promotional events across cities like Mumbai, Chennai, and Kerala to strengthen the film’s reach in multiple markets.
If the promotions successfully amplify audience excitement, the film could record superb openings across India. Producer Satish Kilaru is backing the project on a grand scale, and reports suggest the film has already achieved record-level theatrical business before release.
At the same time, discussions have started about the film’s performance in the Hindi market. Since pan-India films heavily depend on collections from Hindi belts, competition in that region has become an important factor. Varun Dhawan’s Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai is scheduled to release on June 5. This has sparked conversations about possible competition over theatre allocation and screen sharing.
However, trade experts believe the competition may not seriously affect Peddi. In the first place, Varun Dhawan’s film is lacking hype. If Peddi receives positive word of mouth from the Hindi audience, there would be no stopping it.
Ram Charan is a known face among Hindi audiences, though there isn’t any significant buzz for Peddi in Hindi as of now. However, a good audience response could easily overpower the lack of buzz and any competition from Varun Dhawan’s film. Adding to the advantage, top distribution company Jio Studios is preparing a wide release strategy for Peddi’s Hindi version.
Sources say the makers have already completed advance planning regarding theatre distribution, ensuring that screen count issues are unlikely to become a problem.
