Following the arrest of TDP leader Chandrababu, it has been observed that approximately one-third of the participants in the party’s protest activities are newcomers. Even within the party circles, there is surprise at the significant influx of new faces.
Party sources attribute this influx to the heightened level of protest, particularly among women and youth, in response to Chandrababu’s arrest. Since becoming part of the opposition, the TDP has organized numerous agitation programs on various occasions.
These events often saw the participation of party leaders and locally active activists. However, after these events, many of these individuals were not seen again. Chandrababu’s arrest marked a turning point in this trend.
In cities like Vijayawada, Guntur, Visakhapatnam, and others, colony committees and women’s WhatsApp groups have played a crucial role in disseminating information and organizing demonstrations.
Even after twenty days since Chandrababu’s arrest, the TDP’s ranks have shown no signs of slowing down in their protest activities. Hunger strikes, candlelight rallies, and protests continue with unwavering determination.
