Journalist Krishnam Raju who created headlines by making offensive and abusive comments on live television regarding Amaravati women has been given bail by the Andhra Pradesh High Court. However, the bail comes with conditions.
The Court ordered him to pay Rs 10,000 with two sureties. The Court told Krishnam Raju to be available for interrogation. It told him to appear before the investigating officer, every Saturday.
The Court also told Krishnam Raju to be present whenever the investigation official calls. It is known that Krishnam Raju created furore by calling Amaravati women prostitutes during Sakshi TV live show.
Cases were filed against him and he was arrested by Tulluru police. Krishnam Raju was taken into remand. He applied for bail. The case came for hearing and his lawyer said that Krishnam Raju was suffering with health problems. He also told the Court that Krishnam Raju had already apologized for his remarks.
On the other hand, the public prosecutor argued that the petitioner Krishnam Raju released a video justifying his remarks against Amaravati women.
He said Sakshi TV paid Krishnam Raju for making such derogatory comments. Checking his bank details proved it, the public prosecutor said.
However, the judge wondered for how long Krishnam Raju would be kept in jail. He granted bail with conditions.
