Bollywood’s Do-or-Die Film: Bloodier than Marco?

Baaghi 4 Tiger Shroff

Tiger Shroff was once a box office favourite before the pandemic, with most of his action films crossing ₹100 crore. But since 2020, his releases like Heropanti 2, Ganapath, and Bade Miyan Chote Miyan have all struggled badly, drawing more trolls than viewers.

The films that made him a star, such as Baaghi 2 which earned over ₹250 crore worldwide, have not been able to match their past success. Even Baaghi 3 struggled at the box office before the lockdown closed cinemas.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala is also going through a tough time. His company, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, has not had a hit since the pandemic began. Titles like 83, Bachchhan Pandey, Heropanti 2, Tadap, and Satyaprem Ki Katha have all failed to perform.

Both Tiger Shroff and Sajid Nadiadwala need a big hit badly. That chance comes with Baaghi 4, which aims to change things up. Directed by A Harsha, known for high-energy Kannada films, the new film promises a darker and grittier tone instead of relying on South Indian remakes.

The first look shows Tiger in a blood-soaked and smoky avatar. This is a clear attempt to break away from his usual “expressionless action hero” image and bring in more edge.

With veterans like Sanjay Dutt and Sonam Bajwa also in the cast, and promises of unique action choreography, Baaghi 4 is trying to offer something fresh.

Still, both Tiger and Sajid face a tough challenge. Audiences today expect real emotion, fresh ideas, and impressive spectacle. Just more stunts won’t win them over.

Franchise fatigue is real, and Baaghi 4 will only succeed if director Harsha can deliver strong content along with style. The teaser’s ‘A’ certificate suggests a serious film, but only time will tell if it translates into ticket sales.

For Tiger Shroff and Sajid Nadiadwala, this film is truly do-or-die.
