We can debate nepotism versus talent all we want, but the reality is that very few producers are willing to take a chance on actors without a star family background.

Maddock Films chose Abhay Verma to star in the hit film Munjya. Kiran Rao and Aamir Khan cast Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, and Sparsh Shrivastava in the Oscar-nominated Laapataa Ladies.

Actors like Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ayushmann Khurrana, and the late Sushant Singh Rajput had to struggle for years to make a space for themselves in the industry.
However, the majority of Hindi films we watch these days feature a star child. While some showcase talent, all of them get the cushion of opportunities which makes them more visible to the audience.
This makes us question if the future of Bollywood is doomed.
The upcoming faces are all backed, so is there any real space left for raw talent and hard work?
While some of the new kids have delivered a few good films, the number of times they missed is much larger than the times it hit.
This transition period is very crucial for Bollywood as it will determine its future.
