Ahead of the release of Kishkindapuri on 12th September, actor Bellamkonda Sreenivas sat down for an exclusive interview with M9 News journalist Nishant.
The actor, who has been facing a slump due to back-to-back failures and a long break, sounded optimistic about his upcoming horror-comedy. “This is a concept-oriented film. It will impress both critics and the audience. We made it honestly,” Bellamkonda shared confidently.
He discussed several aspects of the film, including how the comedy elements are carefully balanced without disturbing the horror experience. He also spoke about the much-talked-about trailer shot where Anupama Parameswaran appears as a ghost, and why the identity of the film’s villain was intentionally kept under wraps.
Bellamkonda revealed they initially considered Ajaneesh Loknath for the music, but his busy schedule forced them to look at other options.
Speaking candidly, the actor admitted that doing remakes was a mistake. He acknowledged that Chatrapathi and Bhairavam did not work out as expected and reflected on the lessons learned.
Addressing industry rumours about his lack of cooperation during shoots and promotions, Bellamkonda said, “We completed the film in 65 working days flat. Where is the non-cooperation?”
When pointed out that the 65 days were spread across several months, he explained, “I’m not into any other timepass. I only focus on shooting. Sometimes, due to unavoidable reasons, I had to shuffle between projects. But if there were mistakes from my side, I apologise.”
