Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce, and Telugu Film Producers’ Council held a joint Pressmeet last week and claimed credit for getting Ravi Teja’s Eagle withdrawn from the Sankranthi race.
Chamber President Dil Raju earlier promised that they would ensure a solo date to whosoever cooperates. Dil Raju and Prasanna Kumar thanked TG Vishwaprasad, Ravi Teja, and Vivek for it.
Dil Raju may have anticipated this and was careful during his speech on the solo date promise and stressed the word that they would ‘try’ to ensure a solo date for Eagle on February 9th.
It looks like the solo release is getting difficult.
Rajesh Danda also announced his Ooru Peru Bhairavakona on February 9th. But Dil Raju did not mention the film’s name in the Pressmeet and only said he spoke to Naga Vamsi (Tillu Square) and UV Pramod is yet to come into contact (for Yatra 2).
Film’s Presenter Anil Sunkara and Producer Rajesh Danda were upset and are not going back now.
Meanwhile, Rajinikanth’s Lal Salaam was also announced for February 9th release.
Eagle would have gotten a Festival advantage to some extent despite the competition if released for Sankranthi. But the February release with competition makes no sense.
This would create doubt in everyone if Chamber’s word has no value. The biggies should pull off something and reward the Eagle team for cooperating with them.
In case they fail, averting clashes in the future will become even more difficult.
