Peddi is easily one of the most anticipated pan India releases of 2026. After the massive success of RRR, Ram Charan saw two disasters with Acharya and Game Changer. Because of that, Peddi becomes extremely important for his career.
Originally, the team planned to release the film on March 26. But production delays and an indirect clash with Dhurandhar 2 forced the makers to postpone it. Recently, they officially announced April 30 as the new release date with a fresh poster.
However, inside reports suggest the film may still struggle to meet that deadline, and another postponement may happen soon. Some shooting is still pending, and the background score by AR Rahman is not yet complete. That puts pressure on director Buchi Babu Sana and his team.
April 30 is a solid date in terms of box office potential. The film would have been released on a Thursday, followed by May Day on Friday and a full weekend. That means 4-5 continuous holidays during peak summer, offering a perfect setup for huge openings. Losing this date would be costly.
The second half of 2026 is already crowded. Big films like Chiranjeevi’s Vishwambhara in July, Salman’s Battle of Galwan and Sunny Deol’s Lahore 1947 on August 15, Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 and Nani’s The Paradise in August are already lined up. There are also films from Vijay Deverakonda, Prabhas’ Fauzi, Venkatesh and Trivikram’s AK 47, Naga Chaitanya’s Vrushakarma, and Sai Durgha Tej’s next project scheduled later in the year.
With such heavy competition in the latter half of 2026, Peddi has no space to move forward again. Trade experts say the film needs to collect more than Rs. 400 crores worldwide to break even. That means it must perform strongly not only in the Telugu states but also in the Hindi belt.
For Ram Charan, this film is crucial to regain box office credibility and lay down a solid foundation for future films at the pan India level. In such a scenario, the release date becomes extremely important. Peddi cannot afford another postponement. Director Buchi Babu Sana and his team must race against the deadline and make sure the film hits theatres on April 30, as postponing the film might end up denting its box office potential big time.
