Ramayana Turns Big Headache for Ram Charan’s Peddi?

Peddi faces music delay due to AR Rahman

Director Buchi Babu Sana is currently facing heavy pressure because of his upcoming film Peddi. The movie was first planned for release on March 27, but later the team postponed it to April 30. Even though they gained almost one extra month, the pressure has not reduced. In fact, it has increased.

Right now, the team is shooting an important schedule. They are also working on a special item song. There are reports that Mrunal Thakur has been brought in for this song, but the makers have not officially confirmed it.

The biggest concern for Peddi at the moment is the music by A. R. Rahman. Rahman is not only working on Peddi, but he is also composing for the huge Bollywood project Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Producer Namit Malhotra has reportedly said that Ramayana is being made on a massive budget of around Rs. 4000 crores. The makers are planning a grand event next month to introduce the characters and launch the music under the title Sound of Ramayana, and Rahman has to supervise all music related preparations for that event.

Even though Ramayana is aiming for a Diwali release, its post production work is already moving at a fast pace. At the same time, Rahman has to complete the re recording and background score for Peddi. Sources say he has finished the background music for the first half, but Buchi Babu Sana has not yet given final approval.

Another factor adding pressure is the holy month of Ramadan. During this period, Rahman usually limits his work and focuses only on essential creative tasks. Because of these time constraints, Buchi Babu Sana is reportedly traveling often to Chennai to meet Rahman and discuss the background score and final output.

After the climax and special song are completed, Rahman still needs to compose music for the remaining parts of Peddi. If Ramayana was not in the picture, things might have been easier. Now, within limited time, Rahman has to deliver top quality music for two highly anticipated and ambitious films.
