Prabhas has become one of the biggest stars in Indian cinema, known for delivering massive hits, regardless of critical reception. His blockbuster Baahubali set the stage for his success, followed by other high-grossing films.
Though movies like Saaho and Adipurush had strong openings, they didn’t sustain momentum. Salaar broke records with an impressive 600 crore collection, and Kalki 2898 AD, despite being an average film, brought in around 1000 crores. Radhe Shyam was the exception, struggling to achieve a strong opening.
Despite these successes, some believe Prabhas’ achievements are boosted by collaborations with the biggest directors like SS Rajamouli and Prashanth Neel, large-scale productions, or multistarrer films like Kalki 2898 AD. Radhe Shyam’s performance exposed Prabhas’ limited box office appeal in non-mass genres.
Prabhas’ critics are now looking at his next film, Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi. They say they will acknowledge Prabhas as the number one star if he can achieve similar numbers to Kalki or Salaar with a director like Maruthi, who isn’t considered top-tier.
They believe Raja Saab will be the true test of Prabhas’ stardom.
Raja Saab, a romantic horror entertainer directed by Maruthi, is produced by People Media Factory. The highly anticipated teaser, called the “Fan India Glimpse,” is set to be released this evening, promising a special treat for Prabhas’s loyal fans.
