September has brought a dream run for the Telugu box office, with theatres buzzing once again. The month started with the surprise hit Little Hearts, which kept crossing milestones steadily. It touched 10 crores, then 20 crores, and finally reached 30 crores, turning into a sensational blockbuster.
The following week, Mirai also emerged as a big success, while Kishkindhapuri collected strong numbers. These films packed theatres during the first half of September, keeping audiences excited and the industry upbeat after a long gap.
Everyone knows the final week is set aside for the release of OG, expected to dominate completely. That left just one weekend in between, and many wondered if the new releases could keep the momentum alive.
Sadly, the fresh releases over the weekend failed. Out of the four films, Beauty, marking Ankit Koyya’s debut as hero, got some attention but had weak content. Collections were dull, and the film failed to build any lasting impact at the box office.
Daksha, starring Manchu Lakshmi Prasanna, finally released after delays but with no buzz. Poor response meant it went unnoticed. The Tamil-dubbed Bhadrakali opened with decent reviews, but Vijay Antony’s recent flops affected its reach, leaving audiences disinterested. A much-talked-about single-shot film also fizzled out.
With new releases flopping, audiences returned to last week’s successes. Mirai, Kishkindhapuri, and Little Hearts continued to draw big crowds, and even on Sunday, these films were still running to housefull shows across several theatres.
