Pawan Kalyan is in Visakhapatnam attending the three-day ‘Senatho Senani’ meeting, the biggest gathering of Jana Sainiks since he became the Deputy CM of Andhra Pradesh. The event has drawn attention from across the state and beyond.
JanaSena has long been associated with North Andhra due to the large Kapu population, a community Pawan Kalyan himself belongs to. But on Saturday, he made a statement that sparked discussions not just locally but nationally.
Pawan Kalyan made it clear that he does not want his party to remain a regional outfit. He said Jana Sena should not be tied to family, caste, or region, but instead stand for its ideology. The words reflected a larger ambition.
He openly declared that one day, he wants Jana Sena to be recognised as a national party. This shows his intent to expand beyond Andhra Pradesh and avoid being confined to playing the role of kingmaker in regional politics.
Interestingly, despite his closeness to PM Narendra Modi, Pawan Kalyan had never spoken about a national role until now. With leaders like Prashant Kishor-led Jan Suraaj and Vijay-led TVK entering the national space, his words indicate a bold new direction.
