Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam has decided to allocate 30 crore rupees for the Anjaneya Swamy Temple at Kondagattu in Telangana. The decision relates to development works planned for the temple. The move has drawn public attention.
Pawan Kalyan, Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister, recommended the funds to the TTD. He is a devoted follower of Kondagattu Hanuman. His personal faith played a role in forwarding the proposal.
The temple is located on a hillock in Muthyumpeta village, Mallial mandal, Jagtial district. It is believed to be around 300 to 500 years old. Local belief says a cowherd built it after Lord Hanuman appeared in his dream.
Pawan Kalyan considers Kondagattu Anjaneya Swamy his family deity. He has often spoken about the temple’s importance in his life. He credits the Lord for saving him during a severe electric shock incident in 2009.
He visits the temple several times, including before major political events. His visits are seen as a reflection of his faith. These trips have continued even after assuming public office.
TTD has accepted the recommendation and is expected to make an official announcement soon. The development has triggered debate on social media. Many questioned Andhra Pradesh funding a temple in Telangana.
TTD supports Hindu temples across the country, not limited to one state. From that perspective, funding a Telangana temple is routine. However, the issue has led to calls for reflection among some sections.
Recently, protests were seen against installing the statue of SP Balasubrahmanyam at Ravindra Bharathi because he hailed from Andhra Pradesh. Kavitha supported the protesters. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy skipped the event.
Some social media users are now asking if the same voices will oppose TTD support due to its Andhra roots. Pawan Kalyan and TTD have chosen to rise above regional differences. Many feel it is time such divisions fade.
The Telangana identity should encourage development and growth. It should not promote discrimination based on region. The focus should remain on unity and shared progress.
