Alliance: What YCP Expected Did Not Happen

YS-Jagan-Pawan-Kalyan-Chandrababu-Naidu

The YSRCP made extensive efforts to attract leaders from the TDP and Jana Sena after the alliance between the TDP and Jana Sena was finalized. The YSRCP leadership hoped that the dissatisfaction among TDP and Jana Sena leaders over the seat-sharing arrangement would lead to significant defections. However, as of now, these efforts have not yielded the desired results.

In specific constituencies like Avanigadda in Krishna district, where the seat went to JanaSena in the alliance, YSRCP leaders tried to attract ex-Deputy Speaker Mandali Buddha Prasad, who is in-charge of TDP there. Despite efforts by former ministers Perni Nani and Kodali Nani, Mandali Buddha Prasad and most of his followers did not show interest in joining the YSRCP.

Radhakrishna, the son of late leader Vangaveeti Ranga, was also tried to join the YSRCP. He also did not respond. Similarly, in Machilipatnam Lok Sabha constituency and Vijayawada West constituency, where Jana Sena secured seats in the alliance, YSRCP leaders approached TDP leaders like Simhadri Ramesh Babu and Jalil Khan, but these leaders did not agree to switch parties.

Despite the YSRCP’s attempts to capitalize on the discontentment among TDP and Jana Sena leaders, the leaders approached have not shown interest in joining the ruling party. The skepticism regarding the YSRCP’s victory in the upcoming election is cited as a significant factor in their decision.
