But watching Shubman Gill lead in this England series, it’s not easy at all. This series has shown a clear pattern in Gill’s leadership or lack of it.

Ashwin and Jadeja’s words don’t match the ground reality. They said in a podcast: “Test captaincy is easy.”
But watching Gill in this series tells a different story no smart fields, no energy, no fire. It doesn’t look easy anymore.

The team is missing sharp thinking and visible aggression from its leader. With Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli both out of Test cricket, the burden on Gill has increased.

India doesn’t just need runs it needs leadership. And that’s where Gill still looks raw.
It’s easy to say captaincy is simple when you’re not the one in charge. But under real pressure, it’s clear how tough the job really is.
Shubman Gill might grow into the role in future. But right now, Test captaincy looks anything but easy no matter what Ashwin and Jadeja said.
